The 2015 William A. Douglass Prize was awarded to Lilith Mahmud for The Brotherhood of Freemason Sisters: Gender, Secrecy and Fraternity in Italian Masonic Lodges (University of Chicago Press, 2014). An honorable mention was awarded to Mayanthi L. Fernando for The Republic Unsettled: Muslim French and the Contradictions of Secularism (Duke University Press, 2014). Betsy

- Submissions must be under the 9000 word limit.
- The paper must deal with some aspect of Europeanist anthropology and/or Europeanist anthropology’s contribution to the broader field of anthropology. (This rule will be interpreted liberally to include papers of a comparative and/or theoretical nature.)
The prize winner will receive $400 in travel reimbursements for the 2015 AAA meeting. The winner and four finalists will be invited to participate in the SAE Roundtable event at the 2015 AAA meeting.
