Submissions for AAA Annual Meeting 2026

As a long-standing section of the American Anthropological Association (AAA) dedicated to the study of all things anthropological in, of and about “Europe”, The Society for the Anthropology of Europe (SAE) would like to encourage you to consider selecting SAE to review your conference submissions for the upcoming AAA annual meetings in Saint Louis, MO, November 18-22. Submissions include individual presentations (posters and flash presentations) and group presentations (panels, roundtables/town hall sessions, conversations/debates, and interviews).

SAE wants to help members connect and collaborate for the Annual Meeting. Please let us know if you are planning a group submission, or if you have a paper but are not sure of a panel. We will be happy to try and connect people to create and join panels. Please send your CfP or individual abstract to SAE Program Chair Chantal Tetreault (tetreau7@msu.edu) and Program Chair–Elect Austin Garey (amgarey@gmail.com) as soon as possible. As always, the SAE-list is also a good place to circulate CfPs.

For invited session proposals, please submit an abstract and list of potential participants (indicating whether their participation is confirmed or tentative) to SAE Program Chair Chantal Tetreault (tetreau7@msu.edu) and Program Chair–Elect Austin Garey (amgarey@gmail.com) as early as possible, but no later than April 22 to grant us time and opportunity to review your proposals for a pre-selection and selection of potential co-sponsorships. If you believe that your session would be a suitable candidate for a co-sponsorship, please indicate the relevant section so that we can get in touch with their program chair(s).

The deadline for submitting complete individual and group submissions to the AAA general call is April 29, so get in touch with us as soon as possible.
